These three words ideally describe the companies that together form UNEX, one of the strongest green coffee exporter in El Salvador . In 1992 the De Sola Group, searching for operating efficiency in coffee milling and exporting, called for the partnering of several coffee companies. This joint effort combined the experience of five coffee producing families and exporting firms with more than a century of experience in coffee.

In addition, in 1997 UNEX entered into a strategic partnership with Itochu, a Japanese company, giving it access to one of the fastest growing markets worldwide.

The quality of all the partners and its executive staff has propelled UNEX to become, one of the largest private exporter in El Salvador. The company operates three strategically located coffee mills and processes annual volumes exceeding 400,000 46 kilo bags. Most gratifying, its reputation as a quality exporter is unsurpassed.

Social and Environmental Responsibility

One of UNEX most important distinctions is its concern for the social and environmental impact of the coffee process on our quality of life. Over the past several years UNEX has undertaken various environmental projects aimed at correcting or improving some of the negative effects that coffee production and processing ultimately have on our environment.

As a result of this effort, UNEX received the 2001 National Environmental Award.  

As part of its commitment to social and environmental responsibility, UNEX helps producers obtain quality certifications, so they can obtain better prices for their coffee and simultaneously improve the way of life of their farmers and their families.
